Crisis Waiver benefit

Our innovative Crisis Waiver benefit waives the premium due on a policy for a specified number of months should a 'crisis event' occur.

These events include the death of a spouse, divorce, hospitalisation, retrenchment or when there are insufficient funds in the insured's bank account to cover an authorised debit order to meet the current premiums of the policy.

This benefit also offers unlimited waivers in the event of occupational disability, should the insured be unable to perform their own or a similar occupation, or in the event that they’re unable to perform 3 or more daily activities.

Plus, we'll reward those that don’t claim with a cash-back benefit after each successive 5-year policy period.

Our Crisis Waiver benefit:

  • 2 guarantee periods: fixed (10 years) and experience rated (annually reviewable)
  • Only has 1 exclusion
  • Provides for the maintenance of the cover and any compulsory premium escalation required in terms of the underlying product. The sum assured is the total of the premiums of all benefits on the policy.
